Live each day with a smile, it makes such a difference ........
This is one of my huge true loves. Having always been sporty. I started running at the age of 7 with Edmonscote Athletics Club and Coventry Godiva Harriers Athletics Club. I use to compete often and absolutely loved it.
So when I moved to Jersey and Joined a gym at a young age I became obsessed. I became great friends with a few people and that was my social life sorted too.
I actually met my first husband at the gym, and from him competing it became part of me so when an off the cuff remark by one of the guys at the gym said "You should compete" I thought to myself well why not. That was the start.
Below are my yearly pictures on stage. I'm such a shy person and people have often said to me they don't know how I can stand on stage in a tiny bikini with everyone staring at you. Well, truth is I never thought about it that way. See I'm always in my scruffs so getting all girlified as I call it was fabulous. Your not only marked on your toned figure and definition but also your hair, make-up and femininity. Seriously, what girl doesn't like getting dolled up ?
My last competition was 2 days before my mastcectomy . I won my category and went out on a high.
I'd had some bracelets specially made which were parts of jigsaw puzzels that connected together for my best friends. I wanted them to know I was so grateful of their friendship and knew I was going to need them through the next few years to help me through . I presented them to both whilst up on stage and received a standing avaition. No-one knew if I would be around for the next years competition so it was very emotional.
Ive added it below if you wanted to watch. Sorry its not very good quality as its from a phone recording.
Presenting my best friends with bracelets I had specially made for them ❤️
I totally blame my training partner Spencer for this one ! he was competing and talked me into competing a week before. I couldn't do the figure fitness as I was not in condition so I just went for the jolly really and to support him. I ended up in the bikini round and placed 2nd to my horror. It was soooooooooo out of my comfort zone with all the bum wiggles and that but I went I did it.
